Sahayata is one of the eminent non-profit organizations based at Hyderabad in India, which started its activities in 2013 and got it registered in April 2014 under the Societies Registration Act. It is committed to work for betterment of the society specially Children and Women through various activities organized by it to facilitate and improve the socio economic development of the community.

“Healthy Children, Healthy and Wealthy Nation.”

Healthy and educated children grow into healthy adults who can contribute to their own family income. They are able to educate and inspire others. This leads to awareness and economically wealthy society that supports empowerment of the State, region and the country as a whole.

“Promoting Child Health, Education,Women Empowerment and Development through a Comprehensive Family and Community Initiative.”

Children are the future citizens of a country and ensuring their healthy growth and development need to be the prime concern of all societies.Growing children require good nutrition to build healthy bodies and to help them to be better citizens of society.Sahayata conducts awareness programmes, health camps, training programmes etc to promote health and hygiene amongst under privileged children, specially of rural areas.

Education is both the means as well as the end to a better life: the means because it empowers an individual to earn his/her livelihood and the end because it increases one's awareness on a range of social issues to evolve as a better citizen. Sahayata conducts campaigns and facilitates the drop outs to join back to the school, identify child labour.

Doubtless, education is the most powerful catalyst for social transformation. But child education cannot be done in an unhealthy condition. A child will go to school only if the family, particularly the mother, is assured of healthcare and empowered.

Realizing this, Sahayata, beginning in the corridors of education and health, adopted a lifecycle approach of development, focusing its interventions on children, women, their families and the larger community. It has taken an initiative to improve the quality of life of the marginalized people mainly through awareness programmes, counseling sessions, conducting vocational and life skill training sessions,etc..These programmes help the women to improve their understanding of themselves and the society around them.

In the complex social scenario that has emerged over the years, Sahayata realizes that women have a more vital role to play in different sectors of life.Far from being considered as mere harbingers of peace, women have to be the source of power and symbol of progress. Women have had relatively little control over their lives and the resources available to them. The average Indian child still has a poor start to life. Poverty and illiteracy have been the main reasons for the women to neglect themselves and their children. They have preferred to let their children be bread winners rather than students in schools.. The aged family members are extremely neglected. Sahayata has followed its passion to come to the rescue of such poor and helpless members of the society in such a manner that it creates an enabling environment for them to assist themselves to enjoy lives which are healthier, more productive and purposeful.

Sahayata endeavours to develop the society by empowering the underprivileged communities. It can bring about a positive change in the lives of these people by freeing them from the evils of poverty, illiteracy and ignorance.Though its prime focus is on child education and health, Sahayata believes that this goal can be achieved by improving the lot of women who constitute the main support system of their families. The various activities undertaken by Sahayata aim at achieving socio economic development of the communities reinforced with self reliance and empowerment to raise voice against any violence, exploitation and other social atrocities.

Today, 8 million children in India are out of school – surrounded by poverty, illness and despair; they are fighting a daily battle for their survival. Together, we can bring hope in their lives. Together, we can bring change and make it last.
